Ministry in The Nigerian Church: Challenges and Prospects
|
In his book, Ministry in The Nigerian Church: Challenges and Prospects, Fr. Obinna Ifeanyi, CSSp, takes as his starting point, the spirit of koinonia or fellowship existing in the early Church (Acts 2:42). This short but highly readable book examines the styles of Church ministry beginning with the Gospels and taking the reader through various periods of Church history; Patristic, Medieval, Post-Reformation and our own age. The second half of the book pays particular attention to the Church in Nigeria, Fr. Obinna's native country. Using Nigeria as a case study of the relationship between laity and heirarchy in the Church, this book invites the reader to reflect upon where we are as Church today.
